[RE]FRAMING REPAIR
a documentary
Repair is something we've done for generations.
It is the ability to understand the things we use by taking them apart and using creativity to give them a second life, connecting individual empowerment to environmental sustainability.
But in a world where we're constantly buying new and throwing out the old, repair is a way of life that's disappearing in an era of mass consumption.
Combining human stories with expert analysis, this documentary will share the story of repair: why it matters, why it’s slowly being forgotten, and why we need it for a more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive world.
Our consumption is increasing.
Our planet needs repair.
And so do we.
we need repair

EMPOWERMENT
Repair spurs creativity, exploration, and allows us to hone our hands-on skills.
With it, we can become more
self-sufficient and self-reliant.

COMMUNITY
Repair connects people,
fosters kindness & caring,
enables intergenerational skills-sharing, leading to stronger communities.

ENVIRONMENT
Repair means we can keep products working for longer, minimizing resource extraction and reducing waste to landfill.
It decreases pollution & carbon emissions.
